Olympia Titan Tribute

A NEWSLETTER FOR THE OLYMPIA SCHOOL COMMUNITY

Principal's Message

Titan family ,

As we approach the end of the semester, I want to take this opportunity to recognize the remarkable accomplishments and traditions that define Olympia High School. Senior Flip Day highlighted the strong connection between students and staffulty, giving seniors the opportunity to gain insight into the responsibilities that keep our school running each day. The Boys Basketball season opener was a highlight, with a strong win over Dr. Phillips and an incredible show of school spirit from our students.

Our students continue to demonstrate excellence in academics and extracurricular activities. This time of year is an important reminder to remain focused on learning and to finish strong. I encourage every student to take advantage of review opportunities, seek support when needed, and maintain consistent effort as we prepare for semester exams. Academic growth is a priority, and your hard work now will set the tone for the new year.

As we enter the holiday season, I hope you find time to reflect on your accomplishments and enjoy moments with family and friends. The holidays provide an opportunity to recharge and return ready to achieve new goals. It is also a season to express gratitude and share with others, and I am proud of the generosity and kindness shown by our Titan community. I am proud of the dedication and resilience you have shown throughout this semester, and I look forward to continuing our work together in the coming year.

Thank you, Titans, for your commitment to excellence in every area. Let us finish this semester strong and carry this momentum into the new year.

With Titan Pride,

Christy Gorberg

In their season opener, our Boys Basketball team took on Dr. Phillips at home. At the game, SGA hosted Club Night and a Toy Drive. The club that brought the most socks/toys to the game earned $200. DECA not only brought the most socks/toys but also had the most members at the game. SGA and the Boys Basketball program each donated $100 to the club. Students who brought toys to donate received an exclusive t-shirt. There was a packed student section the whole night, cheering the team on to beat Dr. Phillips by 18 points.

TTFS

Our 3D Printing Club had an outstanding showing at MakerFaire Orlando! The club's showing at this community celebration of STEAM innovation was a huge success, led by students Lucas Goncalves, Nizar Sahimi, Emily Cohen, and Fabian Ruiz.

The team inspired countless middle schoolers during Field Trip Day and, most significantly, networked with several organizations and businesses interested in working with and sponsoring the club. We are incredibly proud of the hard work and professionalism displayed by our club members.

Orchestra Success

This past weekend, Olympia was represented at the annual OCPS All-County Orchestra. Not only that, but it was Olympia students who auditioned themselves into the first chair positions. Alfredo Hurtado- first chair viola, Caitlyn Walsh- first chair cello, and Vivienne Van- Concertmaster. These students beat out others from all 23 high schools, and Caitlyn and Vivienne are sophomores who beat out juniors and seniors for their spots. This is the 7th year out of the last 8 that Olympia has taken the top viola spot, and the 6th year out of the last 11 that Olympia has taken the Concertmaster position. Please congratulate these students on their hard work and dedication when you see them. Olympia is good at a lot of things, and Orchestra is one of them!
