APEX Gifted Scholastic Academy

Olympia High School is proud to announce the launch of the APEX Gifted Scholastic Academy, an innovative educational model designed exclusively for advanced learners set to open for the 2027–2028 school year. As the second high school academy of its kind in Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) and the first in Olympia’s region, this program combines rigorous academics with specialized support tailored to the unique cognitive, social, and emotional needs of gifted students.

About the APEX Gifted Scholastic Academy

  • Advanced & Integrated Curriculum: Features Advanced Placement (AP) and Cambridge AICE coursework—including AP Seminar, AP Research, and the AP Capstone Diploma track—blended with specialized gifted courses such as Skills for Students Gifted, Studies for Students Gifted, Research, and Externships.   

  • Dedicated Support: Offers tailored counseling services, social-emotional support, and leadership development activities designed specifically for gifted scholars.   

  • Full High School Experience: Students remain integrated into the Olympia High School community, allowing them to participate fully in athletics, fine arts, clubs, and campus traditions while benefiting from an elite academic program.   

  • Broad Access & Pathways: Serves as both a seamless continuation for middle school gifted students and a new pathway for eligible high-achieving students across the district.   

We invite prospective students, parents, and community members to attend the Open House, meet our administrators and faculty, and explore how the APEX Gifted Scholastic Academy can help your student reach their highest potential.

 

**Please note that students do not have be considered gifted to be part of the APEX Gifted Scholastic Academy.  However, all students who feature the gifted designation may apply through the OCPS School Choice Application as of October 13th, 2026 to attend the academy regardless of zoned school.**
